Other info
I prefer M/M for ships, and while obviously Bucky is a favorite, I love pretty much every other possibility and am happy to try new stuff along with being perfectly happy with Gen threads too (if it's not an explicitly shipping meme and you don't have ship preferences in your journal I default to gen.)
I'm down for either smut or fade to black, I've got basically no squicks and while I tend to err on the side of Bottom Steve (I know I'm the odd man out there with Steve) I can go either way. /rimshot
Crosscanon, AUs, OC, even canon OCs are fine just make sure you got enough info for me to go on in your journal if Steve's supposed to know them - this goes for all assumed CR really.
Endgame is acknowledged on a scene by scene basis. Unless discussed prior I tend to play him as immediately post Civil War.
I love exploring the contrast between Captain America the Icon and Steve Rogers the Person, it's basically my favorite thing to play and I am always down for identity porn that way.
PSL/Thread Ideas
- Endgame Branched Timeline 1 Future!Steve managed to get his past self to let him go by shocking him with the revelation that Bucky was still alive, and then also implied to Hydra that he was one of them. Left with the information that his best friend isn't lost, and now apparently with Hydra thinking he's one of them - forget waiting the two years to find out Bucky was alive after having a bridge dropped on him. AU works best with Bucky I think for Steve to bust him out while he's still in deep freeze before he gets programmed to kill him, but any other Avengers being roped into this zany scheme works well too. Also possible different meeting between him and Sam this way.
- Endgame Branched Timeline 2 "Steve travels back to the 1970's and just lives quietly as Peggy's house husband doing jack and shit to save Bucky when he's still possibly Bucky before his mind is broken" surejan.gif - no, Steve goes back to when he has to in order to return all the infinity stones... and knowing the timeline is already branched because of shit they did? Sure, he stays. Sure, he meets up with Peggy again. And they proceed to stop at nothing to find Bucky who Steve knows is still alive, getting Howard's help as well, given that Steve knows there's no way Hydra got to either of them. Only once Bucky is safe and recovered will Steve go back to his own time - after telling them oh right he's clearly still alive too and here's where they found him in the Arctic. Works for any of the actual rescue of Bucky part or that universe's Steve waking up in the 1970's instead being told 1) oh yeah you lived, you lost 30 years or so 2) Bucky's alive too!
Maybe use the newfound post-vietnam understanding of ptsd to get some help since you drove a fucking plane into the arctic a week after your best friend supposedly died. - Winter Captain AU Who doesn't love a good Winter Solider!Steve / Captain America!Bucky AU? Steve falls from the train instead of Bucky, but their destinies play out similar in that Bucky takes up the Captain America mantle and Steve's supposed 'death' was kept a secret for the rest of that mission, and given that Bucky takes the plane into the ocean soon after it's easy enough to sweep the truth under the rug for the next 70 years until the fighter plane that Captain America took down is found and it's Bucky that's revived, enough of the off-brand serum close enough to the real thing that he's alive and well after the thaw. Two years later it becomes apparent that Steve didn't die in his fall either...
